John Boyes
has been running competitively for over 30 years. His best times range
from 3-57.9 for 1500 metres, to 2-13-20 for the marathon, at which
he has represented England and Great Britain. His marathon victories
include Glasgow, Westland (Holland) Miami and Cherbourg. He moved
to France 3 years ago and still retains his enthusiasm for the sport
and would love to pass on his years of knowledge and experience. He
is also a keen cyclist, completing Lands
End John O’Groats in 2003 and gradually ticking off the
famous Tour de France climbs.

John reached the landmark age of 50 in 2007
and celebrated by running the La
Rochelle marathon. As pounding out 120 miles per week is no longer
an option, he is taking a keen interest in cross country skiing during
January to March, at the ski station of Nistos
which is situated 20 miles from the house at an altitude of 5,200
feet. He would love any athletes of any ability to join him in this
adventure. |

Kath Boyes
met John at a spring training camp in Portugal in 1990, and they were
married 3 years later in St Lucia. Since leaving school Kath has taken
an interest in various sports including swimming, badminton and squash,
but has always returned to her first love, running. She still runs
5 times a week, and competes for the local running club. Since moving
to the Pyrenees she has been on the podium more times than John, and
in her first race as a V2 took top position. She is also a very keen
walker, and loves gardening and cooking, a fact much appreciated by
our guests. |

Robbie
is an 2 year old Border collie who we adopted from a French farm for
the princely sum of one bottle of wine. Robbie is tri–lingual,
understanding English, French and bones. Since the age of 6 months
he has accompanied us on all of our runs, and on one occasion he took
a guest around a 10k loop by himself, ensuring he knew the way and
crossed the road safely (the guest). |
